A Proposed Perspective for Facing Brain Drain in the Light of the Requirements of Dimensions of Life Quality

Abstract

The current study aimed to develop a proposed perspective to confront brain drain in the light of the requirements of dimensions of life quality from the viewpoints of experts and specialists. The study made use of the descriptive method which analyses and diagnoses of the phenomenon and outline of its aspects. The research sample consisted of a number of the faculty members in some Egyptian universities who responded to the research instruments which represented in a questionnaire which defines the causes of brain drain of the people with competencies with the quality of life in the light of the opinions of experts and specialists. The results of the research revealed that there is a link between the reasons of the brain drain of the people with competencies and the dimensions of life quality in terms of (occupational safety - social needs - economic needs - job safety - cognitive needs - self-needs - biological and psychological needs). The research developed a proposed perspective contributes to facing the causes of brain drain of the people with competencies in the light of the requirements of dimensions of quality of life in a procedural form that can be achieved. The research suggested conducting more research, including a proposed concept to activate the requirements of occupational safety and its relationship to academic freedoms and the administrative bureaucracy and routine among a sample of faculty staff members.
