Research excellence and its impact on the ranking of universities worldwide "Oxford University as a Model" and the possibility of using it in Egyptian universities

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the research excellence of the University of Oxford in order to develop proposed measures to develop the system of scientific research in Egyptian universities to raise their ranking at the level of world universities. And shed light on the criteria for the classification of universities globally, and the current status of scientific research in Egyptian universities by analyzing the scientific research system, identifying the challenges facing universities and preventing research excellence in them, and coming up with proposed measures to develop the scientific research system in Egyptian universities, and the research used the descriptive and analytical method as well as the method of analysis Systems, and the research reached conclusions drawn from the research excellence of the University of Oxford, and results derived from the current state of scientific research in Egyptian universities, the most important of which is the lack of applied research that deals with community problems, the absence of a evidence base for research projects locally and internationally, and the weak link between community institutions in the fields of agriculture, Industry, health, environment, and education. In light of these results, the research reached to present some suggested measures to activate research excellence in Egyptian universities to implement Egypt Vision 2030, with at least ten universities in the index of the best 500 universities in the world, It is among the top 20 higher education institutions in scientific research published in internationally recognized journals.
