A Program for Teaching Islamic Education Based on the Theory of Brain-Based Learning to Develop Creative Thinking Skills among Fourth-grade Pupils

Abstract

The aim of the current research was to identify the effect of using a proposed program for teaching Islamic education based on the theory of brain-based learning on the development of creative thinking skills among fourth-grade pupils. To this aim, the quasi-experimental research design was adopted and the research experiment was applied to a sample consisted of (40) pupils who were divided into two groups, namely a control group comprising (20) pupils studied the third unit of the Islamic education book by the conventional method, and an experimental group consisted of (20) pupils who studied the same unit using the proposed program based on the theory of brain-based learning. A test of the creative thinking skills was developed and used as a measurement instrument in the present research. The research findings revealed the effectiveness of the program based on the theory of brain-based learning in the development of creative thinking skills among fourth-grade pupils in the State of Kuwait. The research recommended the necessity of using a program based on the theory of brain-based learning in the development of thinking skills among fourth-grade pupils.
