Using a suggested strategy in the light of serious creativity theory in teaching geography in developing first year technical education students' pivotal thinking skills and creative decision-making

This research aimed at developing first year technical education students' pivotal thinking skills and creative decision-making through using of serious creativity theory in teaching Geography, To achieve the aim of the research, the researcher: reviewed the literature and the studies pertinent to serious creativity theory, prepared a teacher’s guide and students’ worksheets in according to a suggested strategy in the light of serious creativity theory , and prepared a test of pivotal thinking skills and creative decision-making and administered them (the worksheets and the test) to a jury member and modified them in the light of their remarks and comments, and adjusting them statistically, 60 male and female students from the martyr abdul rahim sayed omar commercial secondary school at al-fath administration were selected for the research. They were randomly assigned to a control group (30 students) and an experimental one (30 students). The result of using the suggested strategy in teaching geography was effective in developing pivotal thinking skills and creative decision-making of the experimental group. Hence, the researcher recommended the use of serious creativity theory in teaching geography courses for its role in developing mental and life skills of learners that they use in their educational, social and professional live in the future, such as pivotal thinking skills and creative decision-making
