Abstract

The purpose of the study is to know the effectiveness of the use of a proposed program in teaching physics based on the integration of the inquiry model (4E×2) and thinking maps in modifying alternative conceptions of science concepts among first year secondary school female students. The proposed program in teaching physics is designed around the concepts related to electricity and magnetism in the academic year 2019/2020, and they are taught using the integration of the inquiry model (4E×2) and thinking maps. The research group consisted of (30) female students of the first year of secondary school; where the research followed the mixed method research, and the descriptive approach is used in preparing the proposed concept for the developed framework of the physics curriculum in the light of the standards and indicators of the field of physical sciences and the experimental approach based on the quasi-experimental design with a single group. The research tool - prepared by the researcher - was applied, which is a test of alternative conceptions on the research group before and after, and the research concluded that the use of the proposed program in teaching physics based on the integration of the inquiry model (4E×2) and thinking maps has an effective effect in modifying the alternative conceptions of science concepts for the female students in the research group.
