Abstract

The purpose of the study is developing the content of the physics curriculum in the light of the standards of the field of physical sciences. To achieve this, the researcher prepared a list of standards and indicators for the content of the physics curriculum for the three grades in the secondary stage which included a number (3) standards that fall under each criterion, a set of indicators related to it, where the number of indicators reached (63) indicators. She also analyzed the content of the physics curriculum at the secondary stage in light of the list of standards and indicators for the field of physical sciences. The results of analyzing the content of physics books for the three grades at the secondary stage showed that the field of physical sciences was achieved in the physics book for the third secondary grade by 87% and this percentage is above the sufficiency level of 75%, while it was not achieved in the physics books for the first and second grades at the secondary stage. In the light of these results, the researcher built the proposed framework to develop the physics curriculum in light of the standards of the field of physical sciences for secondary school students in the three grades.
