Developing of the performance of primary school principals in Minya governorate in light of the dimensions of governance

Abstract

The current research aims to identify the theoretical foundations of the dimensions of governance and the theoretical foundations of school management, and to identify the reality of the performance of primary school principals in Minya Governorate in light of the dimensions of governance. The research used the descriptive approach by applying a questionnaire consisting of (14) items, on a sample of (2100) Principals, agents and teachers of primary schools in Minya Governorate, and the research found that the level of practice of the study sample of the reality of developing the performance of primary school principals in light of the dimensions of governance came to a medium degree with an average of 38.60, This is due to the limited availability of the school administration for employees to play leadership roles, and the research recommended some proposals, including: the need for school principals to be familiar with the dimensions of the governance approach, setting basic criteria for selecting school principals, so that they are clear and announced criteria for appointment procedures, promotions for administrative positions within the school and the development of the necessary skills To carry out their tasks efficiently and effectively, the presence of objectivity on the part of the school principal in evaluating teachers, rewarding the distinguished and holding the negligent accountable, and then achieving more transparency in the evaluation process, appreciating and respecting teachers and treating them as partners in developing the educational process.
