The Effectiveness of a Suggested Program in Teaching Geography Based on the National Standards in Developing Sustainable Development Concepts among Second-Year Secondary School Students

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the effectiveness of a suggested program for teaching geography based on national standards in developing sustainable development concepts among second-year secondary school students. The research followed the quasi-experimental research approach of the experimental and control group design. The research sample consisted of (60) female students from the New Secondary School for Girls, Abu Qurqas administration, Minia Governorate. The research materials and tools consisted of a suggested program in geography based on the national standards which involve (a Student's Book and Teacher's Guide) and a test for sustainable development concepts. Results revealed the effectiveness of the suggested program for teaching geography based on the national standards in developing sustainable development concepts among second-year secondary school students.
