Optimism and its relationship to Self actualization among a sample of university students

Abstract

The current research aims to know the nature of the relationship between optimism and self-actualization, and to reveal the differences between the response of the research sample about optimism and self- actualization according to the gender variable. The research sample consisted of (296) male and female students divided into (146) male and (150) female students, and the optimism scale was applied to them prepared by (Mohammed Ibrahim Eid, Heba Sami Mahmud, Sahara Abdel Azim, 2015), and the self-actualization scale prepared by (Mohammed Saaj Othman, Violet Ibrahim, 2015), and the results of the research concluded that there is a strong correlation between optimism and self- actualization, and there are no statistically significant differences between the sample of males and females in the variable of optimism aims to know the nature of the relationship between optimism and self-actualization, and to reveal the differences between the response of the research sample about optimism and self- actualization according to the gender variable.
