The study aimed to identify the extent of social studies teachers’ awareness of applications of artificial intelligence in teaching. The researcher followed the descriptive approach using the analysis method. Because of its suitability to the subject of the study, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researcher used the scale as a tool to collect information about the study. The scale consisted of (48) statements distributed over three areas, and the study sample consisted of (263) male and female social studies teachers in basic education in the educational departments in Minya Governorate.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are: The average response rate for the cognitive dimension of teachers’ awareness of artificial intelligence applications as a whole was (0.51), which is less than the minimum confidence level, which indicates that the cognitive dimension of social studies teachers about artificial intelligence applications in teaching has not been achieved. The study showed that The average response rate for the skill dimension of teachers’ awareness of artificial intelligence applications as a whole (0.64), which is less than the minimum confidence level, which indicates that the skill dimension for social studies teachers about artificial intelligence applications in teaching has not been achieved. The study also showed that the average response rate for the behavioral dimension of teachers’ awareness of artificial intelligence applications As a whole (0.49), which is less than the minimum confidence level, which indicates that the behavioral dimension of social studies teachers has not been achieved by applying artificial intelligence in teaching.
Based on the results of the study, one of its most important recommendations was: benefiting from the results of the current study at the applied level, especially if future research and studies support these results, and the necessity of moving towards conducting scientific research and studies that would focus on developing learning systems using artificial intelligence applications, and providing programs Effective training for in-service social studies teachers at various educational levels on an ongoing basis to introduce them to the applications of artificial intelligence and ways to employ them in teaching and learning. Preparing procedural guides for social studies teachers to familiarize them with the applications of artificial intelligence and ways to employ them in teaching and learning.
