Obstacles to developing of competitiveness in Egyptian university education

Abstract: The objective of the current research is to identify the obstacles that hinder Egyptian university education from developing its competitiveness, and reaching some proposals that can contribute to improving the competitiveness of Egyptian university education. The research used the descriptive analytical approach for its convenience The nature of the problem to find out the most important obstacles to the development of competitiveness in university education; In order to put forward some proposals that may contribute to improving and developing the competitiveness of university education. The research found that there are some obstacles that hinder Egyptian universities from developing their competitiveness and obtaining an advanced ranking in the international rankings of universities. Arab and foreign countries, weak academic freedom for them, increasing their job burdens, poor quality of graduates, and lack of published research for the university, which weakens its competitiveness. Egyptian and international cooperation and research partnership between them, providing various funding sources in addition to government funding for universities, providing academic freedom for faculty members and allowing scientific publication of their research at the university’s expense, encouraging international mobility and interest in the activities of internationalization of university education, activating the role of quality assurance units in faculties and supporting their activities and spreading culture Quality, creativity, transfer of educational experiences, and collaborative work in research work teams.
