Enhancing Alazhar university Institutional Reputation considering ISO 26000 Dimension

Abstract:

This study aimed at enhancing the institutional reputation of Al-Azhar University considering ISO 26000 standards. The descriptive method was used due to its appropriacy to the nature and objectives of the study. A questionnaire was used as a data collection and analysis tool, applied to a sample of 388 faculty members at Al-Azhar University. The study yielded several results, the most significant of which include: the overall achievement of ISO 26000 dimensions at Al-Azhar University was weak, with a weighted average of 1.59 and a achievement rate of 53.12%. The dimensions were ranked as follows: (human rights, community involvement and development, fair operating practices, consumer issues (students and faculty members), organizational governance, environment, labor practices). Meanwhile, the overall achievement of institutional reputation across all dimensions was weak, with a weighted average of 1.63 and an achievement rate of 54.38%. The dimensions were ranked as follows: (social responsibility, service quality, innovation). The results of simple linear regression analysis also indicate that there is a strong and statistically significant positive relationship between the application of the ISO 26000 dimensions and the institutional reputation of Al-Azhar University. The results indicate that applying the dimensions of ISO 26000 contributes significantly to improving the institutional reputation of Al-Azhar University. Based on these results, the study provided a proposal for enhancing Al-Azhar University's institutional reputation considering ISO 26000 dimensions.
