The Level of Practical Education Mentors' Practice of their professional roles from the Perspective of Student Teachers in the Department of Sharia at King Faisal University

Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the level of practical education mentors' practice of their professional roles from the point of view of student teachers in the Department of Sharia at King Faisal University. The study utilized a descriptive survey methodology, with a questionnaire employed as a tool for the data collection. The study population consisted of all students enrolled in the practical education course in the third semester of the academic year (1444H), totaling 96 students. The study sample comprised (81) students, representing 84% of the total study population. The study revealed several results, the most important of which are: the level of practical education mentors' practice of their professional roles was high across all three study dimensions. The dimension related to academic supervisors obtained an overall mean of (4.41), the dimension related to cooperating teachers obtained an overall mean of (4.39), while the dimension related to school principals obtained an overall mean of (4.22). Additionally, the results showed that the arithmetic means of all statements within the three dimensions ranged between (3.68, 4.69), reflecting a high level of practice among those practical education mentors in all professional roles assigned to them. Furthermore, the results indicated no statistically significant differences at the significance level of (0.05) between the means of the practices of practical education mentors in their professional roles from the perspective of student teachers in the Department of Sharia at King Faisal University.
