Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a program based on virtual classrooms to develop teaching skills and futuristic thinking among students of the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Education.

The study sample was from the third – year in Faculty of Education, Minia University. They were 80 students both male and female, who were divided into two groups, a control group and an experimental group, with 40 male and female students for each one. The study and its educational materials include a list of suitable teaching skills for Faculty of Education students, a list of futuristic thinking skills, a test of the cognitive aspect of teaching skills, a note card for teaching skills, a test of futuristic thinking skills, a research program based on virtual classrooms and its guide, Both the descriptive-analytical approach and the experimental approach based on the semi-experimental design were used.

The study concluded the effectiveness of the suggested program in in developing teaching skills and futuristic thinking among third year students of the Arabic Language Department at the Faculty of Education, where the students of the experimental group excelled over the students of the control group in the post-test of the for the cognitive aspect of teaching skills, and in the post-application of the note card for the performance aspect of teaching skills, and the students of the experimental group also excelled in the post-test for futuristic thinking skills
