Abstract

The current research aimed to effectiveness of a proposed Unit in Genetic Engineering Based on synthetic Electronic Modeling for Developing competence of Genetic modification, Awareness of their applications For Agricultural Secondary Students. For the main purpose of performing this objective, the unit was prepared in the form of the student’s booklet, the teacher’s guide and synthetic electronic model to teaching. Tools for measurements include: the practical performance note card for Genetic modification skills and scale Awareness of Genetic Engineering. Methodology of the current research is quasi-experimental approach. The topics of the units for the research group consisting of (30) students in the agricultural laboratory technical field, the measurement tools were applied before teaching the topics of the unit and then applied afterwards after the completion of teaching its topics. The results of the research showed that the proposed unit significantly contributed to the development of competence of Genetic modification, and Awareness of Genetic Engineering for them Students, where a statistically significant difference was found at the level (0.01) between the mean scores of the research group students in the pre-application and post-application of the research's measurement tools; In favour of the dimensional application. The research recommended the necessity of develop Competencies programs for students Based on artificial intelligence, and of including Genetic Engineering within the programs of preparing students of the Agricultural Sciences. as well as educating students and society about agricultural issues and problems and making decisions about them in the light of Genetic Engineering
