Abstract

This study aimed to develop academic seminars within the departments of Al-Azhar University’s faculties in light of knowledge management principles. To achieve the study's objectives, a descriptive approach was employed by exploring the conceptual frameworks of knowledge management and academic seminars, as well as the role of knowledge management processes in enhancing seminars within academic departments at Al-Azhar University. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 373 participants, including faculty members, teaching assistants, and postgraduate students from Al-Azhar University during the 2023-2024 academic year. The study sought to evaluate the degree to which knowledge management processes are implemented in academic seminars across departments. The results revealed a significant deficiency in the application of knowledge management processes within academic seminars, with a weighted mean of 1.52 and an achievement rate of 50.80%. The processes were ranked according to their level of implementation as follows: (1) knowledge sharing/dissemination, (2) knowledge storage, (3) knowledge acquisition/generation, and (4) knowledge application. In light of these findings, the study proposed a conceptual framework for integrating knowledge management into academic seminars within the departments of Al-Azhar University faculties.
