The current study aimed to activate green school practices in primary schools as an approach to sustainable development. This was achieved by observing the actual green practices in primary schools in Alexandria Governorate, in light of the dimensions of sustainable development, from the perspective of their teachers. The goal was to identify strengths and support them, as well as pinpoint weaknesses and overcome them.
To achieve this aim, the study employed the descriptive method, and the researcher designed a questionnaire to collect information. This questionnaire was administered to a sample of (316) primary school teachers in Alexandria Governorate. The study found that green school practices in primary schools were present to a moderate degree, (with a relative importance of 61.47%), , The social green practices being the most prominent (with a relative importance of 61.77%), followed by economic green practices (with a relative importance of 61.57%), and finally environmental green practices (with a relative importance of 61.07%). Based on the theoretical framework and field study results, the study concluded by proposing a set of mechanisms to activate green school practices in primary schools as an approach to sustainable development.
