E-learning Environment Based on Gamification to Develop Ear Training Skills and Learning Motivation Among Music Education Students at the Faculty of Specific Education

Abstract

The aim of the current research was to develop some Ear training skills, namely: melodic skills - rhythmic skills - Ear training skills: (melodic distances - harmonic distances - triadic harmonies - quartet harmonies - some inflected distances), and to increase learning motivation among a group of students by developing an electronic learning environment based on digital game stimuli. The research followed the experimental method with two experimental and control groups for a sample of (60) third-year students in the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Specific Education, Minia University in the academic year 2021/2022 AD. The research tools included a rubric for the performance aspect of hearing training skills, and a scale for learning motivation. The results showed a statistically significant difference between the pre- and post-application of the two research groups in the evaluation card in favor of the experimental group. The research results also showed that there was a statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group in the learning motivation scale.
