The effectiveness of proposed enrichment units based on brain-based learning to develop preparatory school students’ artistic culture

Abstract

The current research aimed to identify the effectiveness of proposed enrichment units based on brain-based learning in developing preparatory school students’ artistic culture. To achieve this aim, two proposed enrichment units based on brain-based learning were prepared to teach the basics of art and artistic heritage as part of the art education curriculum for the first year of preparatory school for the first semester of the year 2023/2024. The study's instruments consisted of an artistic culture test. The researcher used the quasi-experimental methodology with two control and experimental groups. The research group consisted of (118) first-year preparatory school students at the Coptic Preparatory School affiliated with the Minia Education Administration. Teaching was carried out as follows. The control group consisted of 60 students and was taught conventionally. The experimental group consisted of 58 students and studied through brain-based learning. The artistic culture test to the students of the two groups before and after teaching. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed enrichment units based on brain-based learning in developing artistic culture among first-year preparatory school students.
