A comparative study of school improvement networks in some countries and the possibility of benefiting from them in Egypt

Abstract

The study aimed to analyze school improvement networks in some countries: China, Chile, England, and Spain, in order to arrive at insights on how to strengthen these networks, and to ensure that there are generalizable lessons that can be applied to the local context, and to achieve this; The current study analyzes and compares school improvement networks within/across systems, using the comparative educational approach, where school improvement networks are described and analyzed in light of the cultural and societal context, using a sample of four countries, and an interpretive comparative study is conducted between the comparison countries. The study also uses an analytical framework. It is represented by the cohesion/organization matrix of Hood 1998 as well as institutional theory; To provide a methodological lens through which to understand school improvement networks within and across these four systems, identify the enabling factors for strengthening those networks and their obstacles within the contexts, and discover those networks at the macro and local levels of the systems in which they exist. The results of the study revealed great diversity in the design of the structure and activities of the networks. between systems, which in turn were designed according to distinct cultural, systemic and institutional features, and concluded with some proposed actions.
