Abstract

The teacher's mastery of the content is one of the most important factors in the success of the educational process. The aim of the research is to identify the mastery level of female student teachers at the University of Najran from the Geometric concepts included in the intermediate stage textbooks and its relationship to their motivation towards teaching geometry. The sample was (27) female students from the eighth level who are doing the actual field training in schools. For data collection, a test was conducted on Geometric Concepts included in the three middle stages textbooks, and its relationship to their motivation towards teaching geometry, based on descriptive method. The data was statistically processed using the SPSS program. The analysis of the research revealed the low level of female students' mastery of geometric concepts, and the positive strong correlation between both level of mastery and motivation. Therefore, the current research recommends that the mathematics teacher formation courses include lessons to discuss actual teaching situations and experiences to teach geometric concepts for their development and correct their mistakes in it.
