The degree of practicing Instructional Communication skills among faculty members in the departments of curriculum, teaching methods and art education at King Faisal University in the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

The current study aimed to find out the degree to which faculty members in the two departments of Curriculum and Teaching Methods and Art Education at King Faisal University practiced verble Instructional communication skills in the Covid-19 Coronavirus pandemic. The study sample consisted of all male faculty members in the two departments which is (32) teachers for the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020.  The study used a measure of the teaching staff’s practice of verbal communication skills,it is a questionnaire designed by researchers, and it contained (24) items that represented the most important verbal communication skills, represented in two areas: the skill of speaking and asking questions, and the skill of writing. The study used arithmetic averages, standard deviations and (T) test as statistical methods to achieve the objectives of the study. The study revealed the following results:
- The arithmetic average of the degree of practising teaching staff members in the Curricula and Teaching Methods and Technical Education departments at King Faisal University of verbal communication skills in the Corona pandemic (Covid-19) on the two axes of the study (speaking and asking questions, and writing) was high.           
-There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α = 0.05) in the average degree of practicing verbal communication skills due to the department variable, whether in the field of speaking and asking questions or writing skills or the scale as a whole.
 The study recommended several recommendations, the most prominent of which is: Holding and intensifying training courses for faculty members that are held inside the university through the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education.
