A Program in Teaching Arabic Grammar Based on Transformational-Generative Theory for the Development of some Functional Morphology Skills of Speakers of other Languages

Abstract

The aim of the current research was to identify the effectiveness using a program in teaching Arabic Grammar based on transformational-generative theory for the development of some functional morphology skills of speakers of other languages in the advanced level. To this aim, the researcher developed a test for the functional morphology skills of speakers of other languages ​​in the advanced level. The quasi-experimental design based on the control and experimental groups was adopted. The experimental group studied in light of the proposed strategy in teaching the rules of the Arabic language, and the research instruments were applied to the two groups before and after the manipulation. The findings of the two groups on the post-measurement were compared. The findings revealed the effectiveness using a program in teaching Arabic Grammar based on transformational-generative theory for the development of some functional morphology skills of speakers of other languages in the advanced level among the experimental group compared with the performance of control group.
