Emotional Dysregulation as a Predictor of Academic Procrastination among Minia University Students

Abstract

The study aimed to know the nature of the correlational relationship between emotional deregulation and academic procrastination among Minia University students, and differences between (males – females) in emotional deregulation, and it's extent contribution of a predictor academic procrastination. The sample contains of (648) students among Minia University. The scale of difficulty regulating emotion (the researcher’s preparation) and the academic procrastination scale (By Maawya Abo ghazala 2010) were used (Muawiya Abu Ghazal 2010). The study found a statistically associative relationship between emotional deregulation and academic procrastination for the sample of study. The study found a statistically significant correlation between the average degrees (males – females) in each dimension of the difficulty of orientation towards the goal, the difficulty of using a positive strategies of emotional deregulation and total degree for females, while it's not found a statistically associative relationship between the average degrees (males – females) in each dimension of the difficulty of emotional processing, emotional breakdown and emotional ambiguity, contribution of a predictor academic procrastination for the sample of study.
