The effect of using a self-questioning strategy to teach social studies on the development of some reflective thinking skills among the fourth grade students

Abstract

The aim of the current study is to know the effect of using a self-questioning strategy to teach social studies on developing some reflective thinking skills among fourth-grade primary students, and the problem of the study was the need to develop reflective thinking skills for fourth-grade primary students, and this is done through the use of modern teaching strategies such as a questioning strategy. The current research adhered to the following limits: limiting it to the unit "Nature in my country" for the fourth grade of primary school and the first semester, and measuring the reflective thinking skills of fourth grade students. A sample of fourth-grade primary students at Al-Manar Private School, Mataa Educational Administration.
The researcher used the experimental approach based on the semi-experimental design of the two experimental groups and the pre and post application of measurement tools, and the sample consisted of (70) students in the fourth grade of elementary school at the Al-Manar School of Mataya Educational Administration and they were divided into two groups, the experimental group and the control group, and the study tools used by the researcher were It is preparing the teacher's guide, student worksheets, and the reflective thinking scale (prepared by the researcher). The researcher found that there are statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and control group students in the post application of the scale of reflective thinking skills.
