Abstract

The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of a training program in anger management in reducing aggressive behavior and to measure the impact of the program on the development of social skills of autistic children. The study was conducted on a sample of 40 autistic children. They were divided into (20) children to verify psychometric properties, and (20) children as a basic sample. The basic sample was divided into (10) as an experimental group, and (10) as a control group. The instruments of the research were Anger Management Scale (prepared by the researcher), the Aggressive Behavior Scale (prepared by the researcher), and the Social Communication Skills Scale (prepared by the researcher).
Results of the research showed that:
1). There were no statistically significant differences between the mean grades of the experimental group and the control group on the pre-measurement of the anger management scale, the aggressive behavior scale, and the social communication skills scale.
2) There were statistically significant differences between the mean grades of the experimental group and the control group on the post-measurement of the anger management scale, the aggressive behavior scale, and the social communication skills scale, in favor of the experimental group.
3) There were statistically significant differences between the mean grades of the experimental group on the pre-measurement and the post-measurement of the anger management scale, the aggressive behavior scale, and the social communication skills scale, in favor of the post-measurement.
