The effectiveness of a project-based learning strategy in improving the quality of food industries and design thinking among agricultural secondary school students

Abstract

Abstract :
The aim of the research is to improve the quality of food industries and design thinking among agricultural secondary school students through project-based learning strategy. They were divided into two groups, one of them is an experimental group consisting of (31) students, and the other is a control group consisting of (31) female students. The research followed the mixed research method, The research materials and tools were represented in the teacher’s guide prepared according to the project-based learning strategy to insert the jam and jelly unit, the halva unit, tahina and the pickles unit from the food industries book for the third grade agricultural secondary students, the practical performance note card for food processing skills, the food industry quality scale, and the thinking skills test. The results of the research revealed the effectiveness of the project-based learning strategy in improving the quality of food industries and developing design thinking among female students in the research sample.Finally, The research recommends the need to develop agricultural education curricula, so that it includes teaching methods and strategies that work on developing different types of thinking, including design thinking, and develop students’ ability to work on many small projects, and produce products that are of a high degree of quality.
