The present research aimed at investigating the effectiveness of using digital games to develop English language vocabulary learning and retention for kindergarten children. The research followed the quasi experimental design of two groups (control and experimental), whereas the researcher designed and used the materials and instruments of the research, which applied on (20) children of kindergarten second level, Hamed Gouhar Governmental Distinguished Language School at Hurghada; that included: an English language vocabulary learning test, and a suggested digital games based unit. The results of the research showed the statistically significant differences between the mean scores which obtained by the experimental group in the pre/posttest of the English language vocabulary learning (in favor of the posttest). Moreover, there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental and the control groups in the post test of the English language vocabulary learning (in favor of the experimental group). In addition, there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group in the post and follow up test of vocabulary learning. Therefore, the impact of using digital games on developing English language vocabulary learning and retention for kindergarten children has been verified.
