Using SCAMPER Strategy In Science Teaching For Developing Preparatory Students' Conceptual Understanding

Abstract:
The study in its major objective is an attempt to identify the effectiveness of SCAMPER strategy in teaching science to develop conceptual understanding to prep school students. Teaching materials are introduced in teacher's guide and an activity notebook's student to teach the unit of "Energy" as a part of prep one curriculum of science after reformulating it according to SCAMPER strategy for the experimental group. The instrument of the study a; the test of Conceptual Understanding was post- administered to both study groups of prep one of (80) students, (40) for the experimental group and (40) for the control group. The study is revealed the effectiveness of SCAMPER strategy to teach science to develop conceptual understanding in(Explanation- Interpretation- Application), The research recommends the use of a strategy for science education at the lower secondary level and at all levels of general education, which has a major impact on the development of conceptual understanding by making it necessary to hold training courses for teacher students at the Faculty of Education on strategies and teaching methods based on conceptual understanding development, to include activities in lower secondary science teaching methods formulated in accordance with the scamper strategy, and to use science teaching strategies that develop conceptual understanding.
