Abstract

The aim of the current research is to prepare a list of safety standards in science teaching, and to know the level of teaching performance of science teachers before service in light of safety standards in science teaching. For pre-service science teachers, and the research group consisted of a group of pre-service science teachers from third year students, chemistry division and physics division for the second semester 2020/2021 academic year. (71) indicators, and there is a low level of application of the pre-service science teachers (research group) to safety standards while they teach science, where the average value of their score in applying the observation card was (21.4%) of the total score, and for the observation card axes, the percentages of applying standards Safety during science teaching (14.1%) for the standard of knowing safety signs, (17.9%) for the standard for the prevention of chemical hazards, and (25.7%) for the standard for the prevention of electrical hazards. The significance of these values indicates that pre-service science teachers do not apply safety standards during their teaching performance. The research recommends the need to develop safety and risk prevention skills for pre-service science teachers to develop safety skills and prevent various risks for them, so that these teachers can provide and create a safe learning environment. while teaching science.
