Teaching grammatical rules using the FORMAT model (4MAT) to develop some written expression skills for middle school students

Abstract

The aim of the research is to prepare a program based on the use of the FORMAT model (4MAT) in teaching grammatical rules for the third preparatory grade students at (Taha Hussein) Preparatory School for Girls in the Bani Mazar Center, and measuring its impact on developing their written expression skills. The experimental method based on the quasi-experimental design with two groups was used: the control group consisted of (26) students who studied in the usual way, and the experimental group consisted of (24) students who studied using the FORMAT model (4MAT), and a list of written expression skills was prepared, and a test that measures those The skills of the students, and after making sure that the two groups are equal in the measured variable, the program was applied, then the written expression test was applied post-application to the students of the control and experimental groups. It was found that there was a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the mean scores of the students of the control and experimental group in the dimensional measurement of the written expression test as a whole and its domains (the article, the message) in favor of the experimental group, and there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in the field of the telegram as a whole, and the study concluded To present a number of recommendations and proposed research.
