Abstract

The aim of the current research is to know the reality of excellence of the students of the second cycle of basic education in Egypt in the light of Egypt's vision 2030, and to reach proposals to achieve excellence for students of the second cycle of basic education in Egypt. The descriptive methodology was used because it fits the nature of this research, and a questionnaire consisting of (8) phrases was applied to a sample of (752) teachers from the second cycle schools of basic education in Minya Governorate. The research found a gap between the indicators set by Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the reality of the distinction of students of the second cycle of basic education in Egypt, in terms of the low ranking of Egyptian students in international tests such as the TMSS test for science and mathematics for the eighth grade, in addition to the absence of unified national tests that measure the capabilities of Pupils of the second cycle of basic education in Egypt, through which it is possible to determine the levels of students and take decisions based on that.
