Factors of students' reluctance to enroll in the general diploma program, the one-year system, at the Faculty of Education, Minia University: a field study

Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the factors of students' reluctance to enroll in the general diploma program, the one-year system, at the Faculty of Education, Minia University. The research relied on the descriptive approach, and a questionnaire was designed to measure the degree of presence of these factors, as the questionnaire was applied to a sample of (582) students from general diploma students of the one-year system from Minia governorate who refrained from joining the general diploma in Minia education and went to study it in Assiut education and Beni Suef .
The results of the research concluded that the general average of the degree of appreciation of the study individuals for the factors of reluctance of students in the general diploma program, the one-year system at the Faculty of Education - Minia University, was achieved to a large degree in general, as well as in the axis of economic and academic reluctance factors, while it was achieved to a moderate degree in the axis of personal reluctance factors. The axis of economic reluctance factors ranked first, followed by the axis of academic reluctance factors, while the axis of personal reluctance factors came in the last rank. The study also concluded that education in Beni Suef is the most attractive among the three faculties of education (Assiut - Minia - Beni Suef) for general diploma students, the one-year system.
