The Effect of Using The Roundhouse Diagrm Strategy in Teaching Science to Develop The Conceptual Comprehension of Pupils of The Second Cycle of Basic Education

Abstract

The current research aimed at identifying the effect of using The Roundhouse Diagrm strategy in teaching science on developing the conceptual comprehension of the second-year preparatory school pupils. The teaching and learning materials were represented in the teacher’s guide and student activities book for teaching the “The Periodicity of elements and their properties in the modern periodic table” unit within the science course which was formulated according to the circular house shape strategy for pupils of the experimental group. The measurement instrument consisted of an objective test of the conceptual comprehension. The two research groups were tested among the second-year preparatory school pupils in Atqa village, Mallawi Educational Administration in Minia Governorate. The two groups consisted of 73 students who were divided into: 38 students in a control group and 35 students in an experimental group. The results of the research showed that the use of the circular house shape strategy in teaching science led to the development of the conceptual comprehension of the second-year preparatory school pupils.
