Perfectionism and its relationship to emotional regulation and artistic performance in students of the faculty of technical education in Minya: a psychometric clinical study

Abstract

The study aimed to examine the correlation between perfectionism and emotional regulation among students of the Faculty of art education in Minya, and to reveal the difference between high perfectionism of students of the Faculty of art education and low perfectionism in emotional regulation and artistic performance, as well as to reveal the connotations and meanings that may indicate the presence of tendencies to high perfectionism in psychological psychometric study: Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale(1991,2004) Hewitt & Flett, emotional regulation scale (2020) Preece, Becerra, Robinson, & Gross (localization and legalization, researcher: 2023), as well as clinical study tools: Personal Interview (case history), partial payments scale (preparation: Husseini, 1997), House, tree and person drawing test (translation: The results indicated that there was a statistically significant positive correlation between the dimensions of perfectionism and cognitive reappraisal in the students of the Faculty of art education, the relationship was statistically significant at the level of (0.01), and there was no statistically significant correlation between the dimensions of perfectionism and expressive suppression in the students of the Faculty of art education study sample, there are also statistically significant differences at the level of between the average grades of high perfectionism students and low perfectionism students in each from: in favor of students with high perfectionism, and the absence of statistically significant differences at the level of between the average grades of students with high perfectionism and students with low perfectionism in expressive suppression, and in view of these results a set of proposed pedagogical and research.
