Mindfulness and its relationship to rumination among students of the faculty of Education.

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between Mindfulness and rumination among students of Faculty of Education.And identifying the differences between males and females in the two variables of the study. The sample consisted of (252) male and female students , with an average age of (19.42) years and a standard deviation of (1.41). The researcher used a scale Mindfulness (Al-Ghanami et al., 2023), and the rumination scale ( Al-Masry, 2021), The results revealed that “there is a statistically significant negative correlation at the level of (0.01) between the dimensions of mindfulness (awareness, self-monitoring, resilience) and rumination in the sample, and there is a negative correlation at the level of (0.01) between mindfulness as a whole and rumination among the sample. There are also non-statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females students in the two dimensions (awareness and self-monitoring), and there are statistically non-significant differences between the average scores of males and females students in mindfulness as a whole, while there were differences It is statistically significant at the level of (0.01) between the average scores of males and females students in the dimension (resilience) in favor of females. There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females students in the dimension (flow of negative thoughts, excessive remorse). Moreover, there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of male and female students of the College of Education in rumination as a whole.
