Abstract:

The current research aimed to investigate the effectiveness of a suggested program in green technology based on green economy dimensions for developing pre-service science teachers' conceptual assimilation. To achieve this goal, a quasi-experimental approach with a single-group design was used and the learning and teaching materials were designed in this research, including a student’s book on green technology topics formulated according to green economy dimensions, and a teacher’s guide on green technology topics formulated according to green economy dimensions. The measurement instruments included a conceptual comprehension test. The research group consisted of 53 male and female students in the third year (primary education-specializing in science), for the academic year 2023/2024 at the Faculty of Education, Minia University. This was during the first semester of the academic year 2023/2024 after obtaining official approvals from the Faculty of Education administration at Minia University to implement the research experiment at the college. The research results showed that the suggested program in green technology, formulated according to green economy dimensions, had a significant effectiveness in developing conceptual assimilation among pre-service science teachers. The research recommended incorporating green technology concepts and topics into science curricula at different educational levels and developing science teacher preparation programs in light of contemporary environmental and technological developments such as green economy.
