Abstract

Cognitive biases in light of some demographic variables among university students with motor disabilities

The study aimed to identify the level of cognitive biases among university students with motor disabilities, as well as to identify the significance of the differences in cognitive biases according to the variables of gender (males and females), and academic year (first and fourth). The study sample consisted of (64) male and female students with disabilities. Movement at the university, and the cognitive biases scale prepared by Mr. Al-Fadali Abdel-Muttalib and Mimi Al-Sayed Ahmed (2019) was used. The results of the study showed a low level of cognitive biases as a whole in the study sample and the dimensions of rigidity of beliefs and external attribution, while there was a high level in the dimension of jumping to conclusions in the study sample. While the level of attention to threats was moderate, it also showed that there were no statistically significant differences due to the gender variable (males - females) in the cognitive biases of the study sample, and there were no statistically significant differences due to the school year variable (first - fourth) in biases. Cognitive knowledge among the study sample.
