Abstract

This research aimed to identify some of the commonalities between the agriculture and education fields, by analyzing the general trends and basic principles that govern prevailing practices in agriculture and comparing them to their counterparts in pre-university education to explore the twinning linkages between these two fields, to demonstrate their existence, and to emphasize their importance through research, studies, laws, and legislation related to or referring to these linkages, and then giving a firm ground to and analyzing them critically in order to derive significant indicators that contribute to improving educational policy and developing educational reforms for general pre-university education sector in Egypt. The descriptive approach as well as the critical approach via the critical reflective method have been used. Results revealed that there are seven linkages to twinning between agriculture and education. In the light of these twinned linkages, the research sought to develop a proposed vision for improving the reform policy for public pre-university education in Egypt, including the philosophy of that vision, and its pillars, goals, mechanisms, and requirements.
