Abstract

This study aimed to utilize hypermedia educational modules in teaching grammar rules to first-year preparatory students and to measure their effectiveness in acquiring grammar concepts. The experimental methodology based on a quasi-experimental design with two groups was employed: the control group, consisting of 30 students who were taught using the usual method, and the experimental group, consisting of 30 students who were taught using hypermedia educational modules. A list of appropriate grammar concept skills for first-year preparatory students was prepared, along with a test to measure these skills. The test was administered beforehand to ensure the equivalence of the two groups in the measured variable. The experimental treatment material, represented by the hypermedia educational modules for teaching the prescribed grammar rules, was then applied to first-year preparatory students in the first semester. The test was then applied post-treatment to both the control and experimental groups. The study found a statistically significant difference at the level of (0.05) between the mean scores of the control and experimental groups in the post-test of grammar concepts, in favor of the experimental group. The study concluded with several recommendations and proposed research.
