Abstract:

This research aimed to measure the effectiveness of a professional development program based on 21st-century skills in enhancing the self-efficacy and creative teaching skills of secondary agricultural education teachers. The research sample consisted of 31 male and female teachers from Tanta Secondary Agricultural School, under the West Tanta Education Administration. A mixed-methods approach was utilized for the research. The materials and tools included a trainer and trainee guide for the proposed program, a descriptive performance evaluation card for creative teaching skills, a self-efficacy scale, and self-reports. The results demonstrated the program's effectiveness in enhancing both self-efficacy and creative teaching skills among secondary agricultural education teachers. The research recommended the inclusion of 21st-century skills in the curricula of colleges of education for preparing secondary agricultural education teachers to better equip them for contemporary educational challenges. Additionally, it stressed the need to incorporate 21st-century skills into in-service training programs for agricultural science teachers to enhance their teaching competencies and enable them to adopt modern educational practices.
