Effectiveness of Educational Theatre in Developing English Conversation Skills for Primary School Pupils in International Schools: Experimental Study

Abstract

This experimental study aimed to measure the effectiveness of the educational theater in developing conversation skills in the English language for primary school pupils in the light of the conversation skills adopted by the current study. The study tools consisted of an educational play in the English language. Students were trained to perform them with the assistance and supervision of English language teachers. The school gives students the opportunity to add and create according to the performance required for performance and according to the goals of the educational theater, in addition to a court note card to evaluate the performance of each student during the oral conversation with his colleague, and the study sample consisted of (20) students from the higher grades ( Fourth, fifth and sixth) at the elementary stage in international schools in Arar, Saudi Arabia, they were divided into two groups, one is experimental and the other is control. The results were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U-test and the Wilcoxon Z- test.  The results showed the effectiveness of the educational theater in developing conversation skills in the English language.
