The current study aimed to design a training program based on systemic thinking skills to identify its effectiveness in raising the level of visual and verbal representations of dynamic systems. The sample of the study consisted of 84 male and female students in the fourth year enrolled in the department of Educational Psychology. The study tools included a program based on systemic thinking skills (Dynamic Thinking, System as a cause Thinking, Procedural Thinking, Closed Loop Thinking, Forest Thinking, Quantitative Thinking, Scientific Thinking), in addition a cognitive representation test to measure the level of visual and verbal representations of dynamic systems among the study sample before and after the application of the program.
By statistically analyzing the data resulting from the application of the cognitive representation test using t- test and Wilcoxon test of the related samples, It was found that there is a significant difference at level (0.001) between the mean scores of the experimental group on the pre and post measurements of the visual representation in favor of the post-measurement, and the effect size of the program on visual representation reached (0.985) which is high value. Moreover, a significant difference was found between the mean scores of the experimental group scores on the pre and post measurements of verbal representation in favor of the post- measurement, and the effect size of the program on verbal representation is R = 0¸ 63, which is also high.
